Leaders flew in from different states in the US and various countries in the world. Other than Indian Christians from neighboring states, we had people from local Churches . This was the first and only effort of this kind at the international level toanalyze and study in order to prepare a suitable response and to adopt a strategy to mitigate the violence against
Christians in India. We brought together a network of like-minded people who are concerned about the digression of India's secular fabric.
Though there have been only 60 incidents of violence against Christians over the last one year but the legislative and verbal violence continue. Incidents include but are not limited to, the burning alive and murdering of missionaries, rape of nuns, burning and desecration of Churches and Bibles, the false arrests and torture of Christians and hundreds and hundreds of Christian houses that have been burnt. India is a secular country and we have been asking the Government of India to implement the constitutional guarantees of religious freedom. Alan de Lastic
